Graphitization

The graphite process is used in the production of electrodes and abrasives, such as silicon carbide, and consists, among other things, of prolonged heating of the initial workpiece to obtain the desired properties. Process parameters: current 20 … 150kA, voltage-150…300V.

A feature of the process is its cyclical nature (preparation of the furnace, heating, cooling, dredging of the finished product), so that one rectifier unit is used for several furnaces in turn. As a result, the unit is installed in the machine hall and has a branched DC busbar with disconnectors for each individual furnace, or a mobile version – the unit moves along the rails and drives up to the furnace being put into operation.

Since instantaneous current stabilization is not required, diode units with OLTC are widely used.

Rectifiers from ETS Engineering have the following features:

  • increased corrosion resistance;
  • rectifier group layout modification to suit existing space;
  • mobile version with a positioning system available.

Full set of factory tests of all equipment and software significantly reduces the cost of putting equipment into operation. All documentation provided includes comprehensive instructions for operational and maintenance personnel, including electrical diagrams of all components.
